To the Editor:

I read with great interest a recent submittal by Mr. Ray Szumilas regarding political signs in our neighborhood. It is unfortunate that anyone should feel they have been prevented from expressing their political opinions. Since my residence is referred as a property with a posting supporting First Selectman Klein, I thought it might be appropriate time to explain the presence of that sign.

As a businessperson I understand that efficiency breeds progress. I don't have a profound knowledge of all of Killingworth's issues, although I had some interaction with our town's government while serving on several committees. Given that I am distracted otherwise, I want to have someone who can make a decision and illustrate leadership. During my relatively short residence in Killingworth, I have witnessed the negative effects of a lack of progress due to "paralysis by analysis" during prior administrations.

I served on the Ball fields Committee and watched as First Selectman Klein, in conjunction with the Board of Selectmen made the purchase of the Wettish property become a reality. This was something that even Mr. Sipples admitted was long past due. Through such actions everyone will have a magnificent recreational venue. My neighbor's children will have ball fields to play on, if they so desire, even in the face of his support for a different candidate.

Many people have commented on First Selectman Klein's decisiveness. Frankly, I think it is a necessary attribute for any leader trying to move a community forward. With our taxes increasing each year, it is important that we elect a leader who seeks efficiency in our government. I trust First Selectman Klein with the decisions that are so crucial for Killingworth.
