To the Editor:

As Election Day approaches, I want to remind Killingworth voters of a few relevant facts.

Two years ago, the two candidates for 1st Selectman were John Amport and Marty Klein.  It was a very close race.  You now have the opportunity to have both of us serve on your Board of Selectmen.  In the last election, each of us was endorsed by a wide range of your friends and neighbors.

As recently as July 25, 2007 Michael Sanders, KDTC Chairman was quoted in KillingworthToday.com:

“We are deeply appreciative of all the hard work that Marty Klein has given to the town of Killingworth. His energy, drive, and intelligence have moved the town forward at a pace that we had not seen in a long time.”

The only thing that has changed since 2005 and this past July is that John and I are giving the voters of Killingworth a real choice on November 6th.

When I undertook my independent candidacy, I asked John if he would run with me.  Over the past two years he has done nothing but continue to serve his community and help me with a broad range of issues.  I feel that in order to maximize what can be accomplished for the community I need John’s intellect, experience, and forward thinking.  He is an individual who can work with a broad range of subjects that makes him invaluable when discussing alternative ideas and issues.

I am asking for your vote for the Klein – Amport ticket to ‘Keep up the Progress”!

On November 7th, we will all know who will be leading Killingworth for the next two years.  Whatever the result, we all need to respect the voters’ decision and come together as a community to support their efforts on our behalf.

Marty Klein
First Selectman
