Dear Democratic Candidates,

As we write this we have no idea what today's outcome will be. Whatever the result, we want to commend you on the process that led you to this point.

You were nominated by a Democratic caucus that proved itself to be truly democratic by voting a slate of its own choosing. You ran on a platform you helped shape and that you could, and do, support. You turned your differences into complementary strengths. You adhered to a campaign strategy that stressed your qualifications, your goals and your vision for Killingworth. In the face of contention you never took the bait or stooped to negative counterpunches. You committed precious time, enormous effort and abundant energy.

If you have been successful, that record speaks to what our town can expect of you throughout your term. If you were not, you have raised the standard for all future candidates, and we hope you will be among them. Whatever the outcome, we are proud to have been a part of this endeavor and thank you for putting yourselves forward.

Sincerely,
Gwenne Lally & Kathleen Amoia
