To the Editor:
I have been amazed at the rhetoric of Selectman Sipples with his postulation
of his leadership because he has served so many years on the Recreation
Board. While his tenure is to be commended, leadership is just not
attending meetings but having a vision, proposing programs and projects,
etc. The eight years I served on either the Board of Selectmen or as
First Selectman, I can not recall anything Mr. Sipples actually proposed
or followed through on. Bragging is o.k. but actually doing something
as its member or chairman is LEADERSHIP. Mr. Sipples has been a real
disapointment as Selectman.
Also Selectman Dudek has also been a disappointment. He has not done
the job and not shown the leadership a lot of people expected. Putting
off decisions and relegating to a committee is not what Selectmen are
expected to do.
I voted for both Mr. Sipples and Mr. Dudek last election but will not
this November. They have let the residents down.
Marty Klein hit the road at full speed, made some early mistakes, but
has done an outstanding job. Under his leadership, our town has moved
forward with project after project, all at minimal cost. Marty has
earned another term so he can finish the job.
Its time the Board of Selectmen begins working together and its time
for changes on the Board so Killingworth can move forward.
The "dream board" would be Marty Klein, John Amport and Catherine
Iino. They get my vote and should get yours.
