This election cycle, there are three candidates for First Selectman in Killingworth. In order to clarify any confusion that there may be regarding who has been endorsed by which political party, the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee would like to remind the voters that Rick Albrecht is the First Selectman candidate endorsed by the Democratic party. Rick has had a lifetime of service to the well being of our town. There are few people who know more about Killingworth than this worthy candidate.
Cathy Iino, candidate for Selectman, is presently on the Board of Finance. Her passion for respecting the environment and keeping our town rural is without question. Ed Sipples is our current Selectman. His knowledge of the issues facing our town is impressive. Claudette Lagasse, candidate for Town Treasurer and Michele Nuhn, candidate for Tax Collector are both cross endorsed candidates. Lou Annino Sr. brings his love of Killingworth and fiscal responsibility to the Board of Finance. Louis Annino Jr. is a current respected member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. His knowledge of zoning law and development is an asset to our town.
John O'Leary is a sitting member of the Board of Education. His intelligent approach to all issues, as well and his understanding of effective educational practices, are helping to shape a sound educational and social grounding for our children's future. Tim Withington is a committed town resident who will be a positive addition to the Board of Assessment Appeals. .James K. O'Brien has been a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. As an alternate, he will bring years of experience to that position. Charles Martens Jr. is a former Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. His experience will be invaluable to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Francis Dooley is a long time Fire Commissioner. His knowledge of the town is absolutely necessary in this crucial position. Jeffrey Reisman will bring the same balanced approach and careful preparation to the position of Alternate for the Zoning Board of Appeals that he brought to his work on the Pay As You Throw Committee.
We urge every voter to come to the polls on November 6th and vote for Killingworth, and our endorsed Democratic slate. Voting in local elections matters, it matters where we live.
Thank you,
Michael J. Sanders
