To the Editor:

The Killingworth Democratic Campaign Committee would like to thank Rob Artus for supporting Ed Sipples. Ed's balanced, thoughtful approach to town governance has been an asset. We ask Mr. Artus to consider extending his support to the entire Democratic slate.

The active agenda that has been pursued over the past two years was, in many instances, part of the Killingworth Democratic Platform of 2005. Our platform and our candidates are again supporting a process that prepares our town for a dynamic future while retaining the small town character we all love.

It has been and will continue to be part of our platform to explore viable housing solutions for our seniors and our young people. Our candidates, Albrecht, Iino, and Sipples, are committed to pursuing land acquisition for open space and municipal development and to delivering on the Wettish property playing fields.

They are also committed to several other important planks in our platform. Under the heading of responsible management, we advocate a few things not in evidence in the first selectman's wing of Town Hall over the past two years. Open and transparent channels of communication will be observed under Rick Albrecht's administration. Confidentiality and respect for all residents' private issues and information will be required, and the BOS will adhere to correct bidding procedures, something Ed Sipples has continually demanded.

And yes, Mr. Artus, Cathy Iino is a terrific lady and ready for the job. She currently serves on the Board of Finance and is secretary of the Killingworth Democratic Town Committee. She is a former chair of the town committee and served on the H-K School Facitlities Committee and the Pay as You Throw Committee.
