To the Editor:

Just to bring your readers up to date on Killingworth's PZC actions in the past two years with regards to additional Commercial development in Killingworth.

We have approved in that period of time more applications than any other time since the approval of the Parmedica complex. We just approved a new Killingworth True Value that will be assessed in the millions of dollars, with three buildings, the largest of which is 16,000 square feet.

By the way, much of Pharmedica is vacant and many Commercial properties are presently for sale.

Killingworth's PZC is not an Economic Development Commission, and is not controlled by any political party, and as a matter of fact in my short tenure on PZC, I have never heard from any elected official or anyone else for that matter, about the desirability of additional Commercial development in Killingworth. Our Survey of citizen's concerns showed only 12% of respondents wishing for more shopping opportunities in our town.

Soon we will be having a Public Hearing on our draft Plan of Conservation and Development that will guide our town's development over the next ten years. I look forward to hearing from all concerned citizens attending this meeting that wish to help us in this plan's final wording.

Phil Stull, Member PZC
