To the Editor:

When I think of the present leadership of Killingworth’s Republicans, my thoughts go back to the election of 2006 and how this group made national news by being the first Republican Town Committee in CT. to abandon their US Senate candidate in favor of Joe (bomb Iran) Lieberman. I'm also reminded of their present Chairman stating that he left the Democratic Party in the 90’s because of Bill Clinton’s misbehavior, but can stay a Republican with W’s behavior.

I further think of how in the past two years as decision after decision was being made in haste and often not thought through, this Republican leadership sat like a monkey with his hands over his ears, eyes, and mouth, never standing up for Killingworth’s future. The best example of this is when the Republican leadership of the Board of Finance uttered not a peep when the greatest financial blunder in Killingworth’s history occurred, the Bosco bonding fiasco.

And now, this group wants the voters of Killingworth to reward them by putting them back in the leadership role on the Board of Selectman.

Their kind of leadership is not deserving of this type of appreciation.

Phil Stull, A proud Democrat.
