To the Editor:

And it should concern all Killingworth Republican voters!  Why is a Republican primary being held on September 15th that includes unseating a very qualified true Republican Selectman, Fred Dudek?  Fred Dudek was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Republican Caucus and has served the town of Killingworth for many years.  Fred’s volunteerism starts in 1967 to present day as a member of the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Co., during which time he served 17, one year terms as Fire Chief.  He served on the Board of Tax Review for 4 years, Board of Finance for 8 years, and has served as a Selectman since 2004.

His involvement doesn’t stop with Killingworth.  He’s a member of Valley Shore Mutual Aid Assoc., Middlesex County Fire Chiefs Assoc., CT Fire Chiefs Association, and past member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and International Society of Fire Service Instructors.  He holds CT certification as a Fire Service Instructor and Fire Officer and was appointed Commissioner of the Enhanced 911 Commission in 1999 by Governor Rowland and re-appointed as Commissioner by Governor Rell in 2005 and 2008.

There is undoubtedly no reason to unseat such a knowledgeable and informed Killingworth Selectman.  We both respect Fred as a first-rate friend with integrity, common sense, experience, expertise and energy to continue as a Killingworth Selectman.  We wholeheartedly support his candidacy and hope that all Killingworth Republicans will take the time to vote for Fred Dudek in the primary on September 15th.
