Studios open to the public in Killingworth include those of nationally-known painters Diane Aeschliman, and Cora Ogden, both elected members of The Lyme Art Association. Art and the beauty of Killingworth's Fall foliage are the highlights at the Outdoor Studio of painter, teacher and award-winning pastel artist Gloria Nilsson, who also teaches Fashion Illustration at The Arts Center.

In Chester, a variety of art studios are participating including the studio of photographer Caryn B. Davis, a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, and the Fine Art Studio of Leif Nilsson featuring Impressionistic oil paintings and drawings. For those interested in sculpture, the working studio of Helene M. Johnson, is showcasing her reliefs and animal pieces. In North Madison, experience an art adventure with nationally-recognized wildlife painter Michael DiGiorgio, professor of nature painting and drawing at Wesleyan University, who is opening his studio of original paintings and limited edition prints.

The Arts Center in Killingworth (276 N. Parker Hill Road) is hosting the studios of plein air artist Margaret Dean and sculptor Rosemary Gurpide, both elected members of The Lyme Art Association. Trail participants will experience "portrait sculpting" in real-time as Ms. Gurpide works in her studio with a live model. On another floor of The Arts Center, glimpse the creative process of plein air artist Margaret Dean as she sets up a still life and works on location. Her studio will display many of her recent "moments in time" oil paintings.

Jennifer Holmes, Ken Shuey and Catherine Elliott, all elected members of The Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, are painting en plein air – a favorite of the Shoreline area – throughout Chester. And as a special bonus, Catherine Elliott discusses her painting process during a scheduled demonstration at The Mill House Gallery. The public is also invited to see Janet Colandrea, a silversmith, complete a beaded, silver necklace using the cold-connection technique of jewelry-making. Her work has been exhibited at the Center for Visual Arts at SCSU.

The exhibit at The Mill House Gallery features numerous pieces by sculptor Judy Holder, whose work has been included in juried exhibitions at the annual National Sculpture Society in New York City. Also exhibiting this year is Jean Waters, a stained glass artist who teaches at The Guilford Arts Center and The Arts Center at Killingworth. Jean-Marie Conlon, a modern painter featured in shows throughout Connecticut and Arts Center drawing teacher Kristen Wojcoski will join the gallery group show. Mark Mininberg, an Asian pen and ink artist, who is scheduled to lead a workshop for the Arts Center this November, is also participating this year.

And, finally, most welcome are returning exhibitors for the second year of the Trail, New York City-based environmental artist Patti Pippin whose hand-built robots were a big hit last year, painter Bill Hosking, a member of the Madison Art Society, award-winning watercolorist Irene Laime, and oil painter Amy White, principal artist of A+ Art and Sign Studio.
