Regular Meeting #09-10
September 8, 2009
Chairman John Himmelman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Members present: J. Himmelman, T. Doyle, G. Rockwell, S. Mala, E. Auer, C. Lippert
Enforcement Officer C. Jefferson was also present.
Members absent: none
Visitors: Anthony Sansone, Jason Nemergut
Minutes: The minutes of the August 11, 2009 Regular Meeting were approved by a consensus of the members.
Enforcement Officer's Report: Enforcement Officer C. Jefferson reported on the following:
1. A list of building permits for the month of August was distributed to members.
2. The Wettish athletic fields project and the Reservoir Road Bridge project are monitored regularly.
3. The Uconn Continuing Education program will sponsor a workshop on November 14th if any members are interested in attending. The brochure explaining the workshop was distributed.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Buchanan Family LLC (J. Robert Buchanan) permit application for WL crossing - Chestnut Hill
Road
Jason Nemergut attended the meeting to answer any questions that members may have about the permit application for the wetland crossing. A new site plan with some minor corrections was submitted.
T. Doyle moved, seconded by S. Mala, to approve the revised site plan dated August 5, 2009, and a permit be granted. The motion carried with five votes in favor.
B. Notice of Violation sent to Anthony Sansone and August 25th site walk report
Commission members inspected the site on Tuesday, August 25th. Mr. Sansone submitted and discussed a sketch of his plan for a dock on the shoreline of Kroupa's Pond. It was decided that Mr. Sansone will use fir or another similar wood instead of pressure treated wood for the decking. A permit application will be submitted before the next IWWC meeting. Because this corrective activity is a response to the Notice of Violation, it will be voted on at the next meeting.
