The Killingworth Foundation, Inc.
Mission Statement
The Killingworth Foundation is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing the amount and the impact of local philanthropy in order to enhance the quality of life for the citizens and the community of Killingworth, Connecticut.

The Foundation solicits and administers funds and other property to help meet medical, educational, social welfare, cultural, recreational, and civic needs. We seek both restricted and unrestricted gifts to build an endowment that will provide a steady, reliable source of support for the community. We will accept scholarship applications directly from students; other assistance will be given through independent nonprofit organizations.

Individuals or organizations making gifts or bequests to The Killingworth Foundation can be assured they have made a contribution that will be of enduring benefit to the town. Gifts to the Foundation will receive the same able management, the same continuity of administration, and the same kind of research and oversight that a large trust fund would afford. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

The Killingworth Foundation was founded in 2007 and received approval from the U. S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization the same year. The Foundation is administered by an unpaid, nonpolitical, and nonsectarian board of directors. Nancy Dodson is the founding president of the board and Barbara Klein is Vice President. John McMahon is the treasurer and Sue Davenport is the secretary.

Good citizenship and organized philanthropy are both based on the ancient tradition of neighbors helping neighbors. The Killingworth Foundation offers a way to act in the tradition with confidence and efficacy.
